Eastern Europe counts more and more countries in SCOAP3. On 18th of February, Prof. Zalán Horváth, Chairman of Section of Physical Sciences in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences signed the Expression of Interest to join SCOAP3, on behalf on Hungary. Hungary becomes the 12th country to join the consortium and brings the total funds pledged to SCOAP3to 2.7 millions Euro or 4 million U.S. dollars: only seven months after the start of the fund-raising.
